Hannah Abbott
Hannah returns to FIRE after serving as an Arthur D. Hellman Fellow in First Amendment Litigation in the summer of 2023. Hannah’s lifelong passion for liberal democracy and civic participation inspired her to pursue a career defending civil liberties.
In 2016, Hannah earned her bachelor’s degree from Bennington College in Vermont, concentrating in photography and literature. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) in May 2024.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Hannah’s natural habitat is deep fog, but she’s enjoying the novelty of Philadelphia’s four distinct seasons. Her hobbies and interests include collecting vintage pencils, listening to The Mountain Goats, and making friends with local dogs.
