Indiana University: University Police Launch Investigation Into Anonymous Offensive Posts on Greek Life Website

On February 21, 2022, Indiana University announced its police department would investigate the identity of an anonymous poster who wrote antisemitic messages on Greek Rank, a website where students review and rank fraternity and sorority chapters. On February 24, FIRE sent a letter to IU’s police department, explaining that both anonymous and offensive expression are protected by the First Amendment, which IU is bound to uphold.
