Dylynn Lasky

Dylynn graduated summa cum laude with departmental honors from the College of Wooster, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in political science. Her senior thesis, “The Harm of ‘Harm’: An Examination of the Relationship Between Conceptions of Prejudice and Support for Free Speech,” received honors in the psychology department. At Wooster, Dylynn was inspired by FIRE’s “Let’s Talk” initiative to co-found a civil discourse club called The John Stuart Mill Forum. The club fostered discussions among students, faculty, and community members on topics related to politics, culture, history, and faith. 

Her passion for FIRE’s issues was shaped during her time on campus observing and personally experiencing illiberal tendencies among members of her generation. Whether in class or on social media, she witnessed a disquieting inclination among her peers to disregard or oppose the neutral principles of free speech and due process.

She was elated to return to FIRE as a program associate after having been a 2023 summer intern, and she looks forward to empowering rising generations to cultivate a more tolerant and less polarized community.

Outside of work, Dylynn enjoys playing Avett Brothers songs on her guitar, watching Caitlin Clark on the Indiana Fever, or going for walks with her family and friends around Old Town, Virginia.
