David Volodzko
David Volodzko is a writer and editor at FIRE. Before joining the team, David was a journalist who covered the war in Ukraine, the Ethiopian genocide, the Syrian refugee crisis, the North Korean nuclear program, and more. His writing has been published in The Free Press, Foreign Policy, New York Magazine, The Nation, The New Republic, and The Wall Street Journal, among other publications. He is also the author of the newsletter The Radicalist, where he writes about political extremism, philosophy, and history.
Before becoming a journalist, David was a university lecturer of writing, logic, and debate. He has a bachelor’s degree in English literature with a focus on Shakespeare from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree with a focus on human behavior from Stony Brook University. In his spare time, he enjoys playing with his daughter and studying.
