Tonight at 6:30: Prof. Jeremy Waldron and FIRE’s Azhar Majeed Debate Hate Speech
Tonight, at Suffolk University’s C. Walsh Theatre in Boston, FIRE’s own Azhar Majeed will square off against Jeremy Waldron, a professor of law at New York University and author of The Harm in Hate Speech, on the question of whether the United States should adopt European-style hate speech laws. (Spoiler: Azhar will be arguing the “no” side!)
The debate is co-presented by Ford Hall Forum and the Suffolk University Forensics Team, and it will be moderated by Boston Globe reporter Hiawatha Gray. Boston-area folks can register for the event on the Ford Hall Forum's website; the rest of us will have to wait for a recap from Azhar!
