Save the Date! FIRE Celebrates 15 Years on October 23
FIRE turns 15 this year! We are excited to announce that we will be celebrating this milestone with a gala dinner in New York City for our friends and supporters.
Steven Pinker, author, psychologist, and cognitive scientist, will deliver the keynote address. One of America’s most renowned First Amendment attorneys, Floyd Abrams, will be the host of the evening, and Lawrence H. Summers, former Secretary of the Treasury and President Emeritus of Harvard University, will serve as the honorary dinner chairman. Many other distinguished leaders in their fields will also serve as part of the dinner’s honorary host committee. Perhaps most importantly, attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from some of the many students helped by our work. It’s going to be a fun, entertaining night, and we hope you will join us.
The gala will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. It feels like just yesterday that we were enjoying the Mandarin’s gorgeous views of Central Park as we celebrated our 10th anniversary. Whether or not you could join us then, you won’t want to miss this year’s party!
As the date approaches, we will keep you updated on the event details, but you may inquire about it now or purchase tickets by contacting Alisha Glennon, FIRE’s Director of Development, at 215-717-3473 or alisha@thefire.org. Online event registration will soon be available on FIRE’s website.
We look forward to celebrating with you in New York on October 23!
