Create a Legacy with a Planned Gift to FIRE
Each year in our Annual Report, FIRE honors those supporters who belong to the Eternal Flame Society—a distinction given to those who have chosen to support FIRE’s work by including a gift to us in their estate plans. Before the end of the year, we hope we can induct many more into this group. The members of our Eternal Flame Society are among our most dedicated allies. They can see the impact FIRE is having on behalf of individual rights on campuses nationwide and recognize the need for our work to continue into the future.
Regardless of whether you are a current donor, you can pledge your support and show your confidence in FIRE by making a planned gift today.
The easiest ways to do this are by naming FIRE as a beneficiary to a life insurance policy or by bequeathing a gift to FIRE through your will. If you would like to do the latter, you can simply insert the following language into your will:
I, [name], of [city, state, zip code] give, devise, and bequeath to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education whose current address is 170 S. Independence Mall W., Suite 510, Philadelphia, PA 19106 the sum of $______ [or percentage of the estate, or description of property, or “rest, residue, and remainder of my estate”] for its general purposes [or for the particular purposes you wish to designate].
Bequests are revocable at any time and you retain full use of the assets until the will is final, making this an attractive option to many people.
FIRE also offers planned giving options that can benefit you during your lifetime, through tax savings or continuing income. These options include charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts. FIRE has a partnership with the Univest Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports donors and charities by providing financial services for planned gifts, and they stand ready to help you set up a planned gift today.
By investing in FIRE’s work, you can leave a legacy of liberty that will have an impact far beyond your own lifetime and ensure that the integrity of your children’s and grandchildren’s education isn’t left to chance. I hope you will consider doing so before the end of the year.
I would love the opportunity to speak with you to find a gift option that meets the needs of you and your family and fulfills your philanthropic vision so that you can be the next inductee into the Eternal Flame Society. You can reach me at 215-717-3473, or by email at alisha@thefire.org. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
