Announcing FIRE’s 2023 Student Network Summer Conference
Are you looking for a place where you can engage with fellow students about the ideals underpinning our democracy? Look no further.
FIRE is thrilled to announce that the 2023 FIRE Student Network Summer Conference will take place July 21-23 in Philadelphia.
FIRE’s annual summer conference is a weekend-long gathering designed to teach students about their rights and provide them with tools to assert and defend those rights on campus. Our weekend-long conference brings together college students of diverse backgrounds and political orientations from schools across the country, connected by a passion for civil liberties.

News
The FIRE Student Network Conference returned with some old friends and some new twists.
In addition to our keynote speakers (to be announced soon), the 2023 FSN conference will feature interactive and thought-provoking workshops led by FIRE staff. Working directly with attendees, FIRE staffers will educate students about the First Amendment and provide practical, action-oriented lessons about how to successfully stand up for free speech rights on campus.
Remember, FIRE is always here to help: We have resources for becoming an activist, learning about your rights, researching your school’s speech codes, and submitting a case. And what better way to kickstart your activism than with a trip to Philly this summer!
The conference is free and open to current students at U.S. colleges and universities (including incoming first-years and graduate students). We’ll provide meals and a travel and lodging reimbursement of up to $500 to help you get here.
For more information, visit thefire.org/conference. Spots are limited, so apply today!
You must use your .edu email address in order for your application to be considered. Applications are due Friday, June 30.
We hope to see you in Philadelphia this summer!
