Leading up to Student Press Freedom Day, FIRE’s Student Press Freedom Initiative (SPFI) brings you a hands-on FOIA experience where you can learn how to use public records to improve your reporting and to promote accountability and transparency. Join FIRE Program Officer Anne Marie Tamburro on February 15 at 4 p.m. to follow along with the steps of a public records request — from thinking through what info you want and how it could be valuable, to filling out a request and mailing it yourself.
