Relevant Excerpt
- Hostile Environment/Discriminatory Harassment by Students or Visitors. Conduct by a student directed towards another student that:
- is unwelcome;
- on the basis of a Protected Category; and
- is sufficiently serious to deny or limit ability to participate in, benefit from, or have access to University benefits, programs, or activities.
- If the alleged discrimination or harassment arises solely from student on student speech, the University may take disciplinary action when the speech: (1) is unwelcome; (2) discriminates on the basis of a classification protected under federal or state law; and (3) is so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive, and that so undermines and distracts from a student’s educational experience, that the student is effectively denied access to the University’s resources and opportunities.
