Mental, emotional, or physical harassment is prohibited, including harassing languages or behavior of any kind, particularly sexual and discriminatory harassment. Discriminatory harassment is defined as physical acts, threats, verbal slurs, or referring to an individual’s race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, creed, national origin, ancestry, age, or handicap that are made with the purpose of injuring the person to whom the words or actions are directed and that are not made as part of a discussion or exchange of an idea, ideology, or philosophy. Practical jokes aimed at other students or their rooms and harassing or annoying communications such as physical mail, email, text messages, social media, and phone calls are also included under harassment.
