Harassment Policies (Learn More)

Equality and Non-Discrimination Policy 11-12

Examples of behaviors which may constitute hostile environment harassment include, but are not limited to: * intimidating or hostile acts
* epithets
* slurs
* unwelcome touching or hugging
* denigrating jokes
* display or circulation of written or graphic material that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group.
Unlawful Harassment:
Unwelcome physical or verbal conduct based upon race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, status as a veteran or special disabled veteran, or gender identity and expression, that is sufficiently severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive as to substantially disrupt or undermine a person’s ability to participate in or to receive the benefits, services, or opportunities of the University.

Advertising posted in the residence halls for parties or events may not refer to alcohol, tobacco, and/or other drugs.

Student Handbook: Student Conduct and Community Standards- Posting 10-11

Advertising, both inside/outside of buildings, electronic/print, and on/off campus, for parties or events may not refer to or promote alcoholic beverages, drugs, or tobacco products. Any materials of an explicit sexual nature are prohibited as well as materials that may be viewed as demeaning or degrading to a person or group of persons.

Acceptable Use Policy 11-12

The following activities are specifically prohibited: ... Users may not distribute or send unlawful communications of any kind, including but not limited to threats of violence, obscenity, child pornography and/or harassing communications (as defined by law).

Student Handbook: Student Conduct and Community Standards- Detrimental Behavior 10-11

Should the conduct or action of a student, or group of students, be detrimental to the general welfare of the University, regardless of whether such conduct is specifically prohibited by any University policy, rule, regulation, or standard of conduct, such student or group of students shall be immediately subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the University’s conduct process.
