Harassment Policies (Learn More)

Yellow light: Equality and Non-Discrimination Policy 12-13

Examples of behaviors which may constitute hostile environment harassment include, but are not limited to: * intimidating or hostile acts
* epithets
* slurs
* unwelcome touching or hugging
* denigrating jokes
* display or circulation of written or graphic material that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group.
Unlawful Harassment:
Unwelcome physical or verbal conduct based upon race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, status as a veteran or special disabled veteran, or gender identity and expression, that is sufficiently severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive as to substantially disrupt or undermine a person’s ability to participate in or to receive the benefits, services, or opportunities of the University.
Sexual Harassment: unwelcome physical or verbal conduct of a sexual nature that can include sexual advances,
requests for sexual favors, and offensive sexual behavior or comments.

Advertising posted in the residence halls for parties or events may not refer to alcohol, tobacco, and/or other drugs.

Yellow light: Office of Campus Activities: Policy and Procedure Manual 12-13

Consistent with the University posting policy, advertising around campus may not refer or
promote alcohol, drug, or tobacco products. Any materials of an explicit sexual nature are
prohibited as well as demeaning or degrading material to a person or group of persons and vulgar
language.

Yellow light: Student Handbook: Student Conduct and Community Standards- Posting 12-13

Any university or individual organization wishing to advertise an event in the residence halls must have posters and fliers approved by the
Residential Living Office located in the first floor of Towers Hall. Approved posters must comply with the University’s posting policy.
* Advertising posted in the residence halls for parties or events may not refer to alcohol, tobacco, and/or other drugs.
* One poster may be displayed in the entrance area only.
* Floor bulletin boards are for posting residence hall and University events only. Residential Living must approve any
exceptions.
* Any posters not approved by Residential Living or any posters appearing in non-approved areas will be removed.
* University organizations not following this procedure will forfeit their right to post any future events.

The following activities are specifically prohibited: ... Users may not distribute or send unlawful communications of any kind, including but not limited to threats of violence, obscenity, child pornography and/or harassing communications (as defined by law).

Green light: Student Handbook: Student Conduct and Community Standards- Detrimental Behavior 12-13

Should the conduct or action of a student,
or group of students, be so severe as to cause a material or substantial disruption of the University’s ability to function as an educational
institution, or of an individual’s ability to access the full benefits or opportunities of an education, such student or group of students shall
be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the University’s conduct process.
