Student Code of Conduct: Prohibited Conduct- General 10-11

Harassment or intimidation, including sexual harassment, engaging in conduct which threatens to cause physical harm or emotional harm to persons, or damage to their property. This also covers harassment or intimidation of persons involved in a university disciplinary hearing and of persons in authority who are in the process of discharging their responsibilities.

Student Code of Conduct: Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy 10-11

Sexual harassment is also defined as student-to-student or student-initiated deliberate, unsolicited, and unwelcomed verbal and/or physical conduct of a sexual nature, or with sexual implications. Unwelcomed sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature shall constitute sexual harassment when: ... Such conduct has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with an individual's academic performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive academic environment.

Obscene conduct and public profanity will not be tolerated. Statements of intolerance and/or harassment due to race, ethnicity, sex, religion, disability, or sexual orientation may be subject to disciplinary action.

Disorderly conduct--disruptive conduct in game rooms or during intramural play (e.g.) use of profanity, display of violent temper, refusal to leave the building or area when asked to do so by appropriate university officials); includes conduct which infringes upon privacy, rights, privileges, health or safety of members of the university community.

If residents decorate their room windows, they should give consideration to the uniqueness of the University and the diverse population it serves. The Residential Life staff will contact residents regarding inappropriate or potentially offensive objects and decorations in the windows when such decorations are observed.
