FIRE Needs Your Help to Continue the Fight for Liberty into the New School Year
September 10, 2008
With the start of September, students and faculty across the nation are gearing up for the 08–09 school year—and so is FIRE. Here at FIRE, the "lazy days" of summer were anything but slow. This summer featured our first annual Campus Freedom Network conference, the 6th straight victory in our Speech Codes Litigation Project, and an enormously successful advertisement in the popular U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Colleges" issue. This is an exciting time for FIRE, and as we move ahead at full speed into the new school year, we want you to join us.
Every year, FIRE faces the unfortunate truth that a new school year brings with it new cases of rights violations and new challenges to individual freedoms on campuses. The past support of FIRE's generous donors has allowed us to carry on the fight to defend individual liberties on these campuses—and as we enter the 2008–2009 school year, the support of our donors, allies, and friends is more crucial than ever.
Today, becoming a partner in FIRE's mission is easier than ever before. You can make an online donation now, or visit our support page to learn about some of the many other ways to donate to FIRE—including through the new Facebook.com Causes application. Donors who give at one of our giving levels (which start at just $25!) are also eligible to receive both promotional and informational materials from FIRE. And with our 10th anniversary just around the corner in 2009, there has never been a better time to get on board with FIRE's cause.
FIRE remains indebted to all of its generous supporters. Your past support has made FIRE a force to be reckoned with; your contribution today can help us become an even more powerful catalyst for change as we move into the new school year.
