More Trouble at Columbia (Part 372)

Today, the Columbia Spectator reported
that the University revoked invitations for nearly 100 off-campus guests of the College Republicans, just hours before the event the invitees were to attend took place. The College Republicans were hosting an event titled “From Hate to Love” featuring three former members of the Hitler Youth and the Palestinian Liberation Organization.
Columbia’s public affairs office released a statement that said, “The approved application was for a Columbia student event and their invited guests. Bringing 115 people who are not Columbia students and whom the sponsoring group cannot identify or vouch for is not consistent with the student event that was proposed and approved.”
In further trouble at Columbia, Columbia College Republicans President Chris Kulawik wrote an editorial on October 4
alleging that the University denied the College Republicans a protest permit for a Columbia-sponsored speech by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (a speech that was subsequently cancelled).
