Happy National Philanthropy Day!
November 15, 2010
Today is National Philanthropy Day, which celebrates "the great contributions that philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community—have made to our lives, our communities and our world." There is no more appropriate time to thank all of our generous donors who make FIRE's great work possible every day.
Milton Friedman once said of FIRE:
Over the course of a long lifetime, I have witnessed a serious decline in tolerance and respect for freedom of speech in the academy. FIRE is currently the most effective force countering that trend. It deserves the support of every believer in a free society.
As we celebrate all that philanthropy has made possible, we ask that you also renew your commitment to the causes you really care about. Without the consistent and generous support of our donors, FIRE would not exist. If you haven't donated yet this year, please take a moment to renew your commitment to philanthropy and to FIRE with a donation today!
